Hi! Thank you, John for the update and for taking the time to look into Yinformer in spite of everything else going on in your life right now. Congratulations for your graduation and good luck with your job hunting! Unfortunatly I have problems with the update: I´m on vista. I tried to update (from the 3.4 version) directly from the program but i got a 339 error stating that the MSFLXGRD.ocx file was missing. I tried to copy the file into the system 32 folder, and register the file but got a 0x8002801c error. Then I've tried to uninstall and downloaded the last version of the Yinformer but the installation will not start att all. Have no ideea if I'm doing smth wrong... Regards and thanks |

Try this. 1. Open a commandprompt 2. Type "Regsvr32 /u MSFLXGRD.ocx" and press return 3. Delete the MSFLXGRD.ocx that you put in your System32 and anywhere else you can find it. Leave it only in your Yinformer installation folder. 4. In the command prompt, type "CD C:\Program Files (x86)\Yinformer" if that is your installation directory, and press return. When you are in the folder where Yinformer is installed and where the remaining MSFLXGRD.ocx is; type "Regsvr32 MSFLXGRD.ocx" and press return. Hopefully that should solve your conflict and error. After this you might be able to update Yinformer too, at least I hope so. This is as good a troubleshooting I can do without being at the keyboard of your system to see how everything is setup. |

Another thing to try is opening your cmd prompt as administrator. Vista and 7 usually require a heightened user level. Right click your cmd prompt and click on "Run as Administrator" and then try to run regsvr as before. |

Thank you so much for your help, but i still can't make it work! I followed arioch's instructions and succesfully unregistered MSFLXGRD.ocx but then after steps 3-4 i got the same 0x8002801c error. (My Yinformer is in C:\Program Files \Yinformer not in C:\Program Files (x86)\Yinformer but i guess this is not the problem). Then I followed John's instruction, and I managed to install MSFLXGRD.ocx. But I still can't install Yinformer. As I uninstalled and removed Yinformer I have to install it again (not just update now...), but I don't understand why the instalation does not work (I choosed to run it as admin), I click the intall button and nothing happens. I even tried to reinstall the old version, still no luck, the same problem. Anybody else having the same problem? Other ideas on how to fix this? Edited by julia on May 25 2010 03:21:10 |

As for the install, when you launch it...nothing opens or displays on your screen? If not, when you open task manager (ctrl + alt + delete) and then click on Task Manager...do you see anything that says "YInformer or YInformer_Setup" under the Applications tab or the Processes tab? If not, that means the computer is not recognizing the installer for some odd reason. |

Thanks for your answer, John. When I launch the setup file it works until the Installation (4th) window comes up. Then it just gets stuck, I can't even close the window. When I right click to shut it down, i get a message that the program is not responding. |

Hmm, I havent heard of anything like this. I use the InstallSimple installer software to make the installer. Next time you try installing it, let it sit for a while and see if it does anything. By a while, I would even let it go for up to 30 minutes and see if it just sits there. To me, it almost sounds like a permissions thing though. |

I would recommend scanning your computer for malware (trojans, viruses etc.) as well as running defrag on your harddrive. Because something is not acting as it should. You can try the free version of Malwarebytes Antimalware, I highly recommend it, though you have to click on update and scan manually with this program. And there is no resident protection in the free version. I have cleaned up many computers using that. Software in windows do not get stuck without reason, 9 times out of 10 it is another piece of software that is misbehaving and interfering that is the cause. |

Working fine, now! Thank you so much, both of you! I ckecked, cleaned (didn't find anything really, just cookies and stuff like that, but Im going to run the Malwarebytes Antimalware just to be sure, thank you for the tip), defrag and rebooted my computer and tried to install again and this time it worked fine. Yinformer is now running without problems and accurate as I can see. Sorry to take up so much of your time, especially now... I would be more than happy to contribute by making a donation, and not just clicking the adds... Thanks again! |
